With a passion to see the world and a curiousity to learn from different cultures, the traveling dress was the perfect fit for my creative spirit. Instead of using the English word for wanderlust, my husband suggested using a foreign language. Since I love the Latin culture, Pasion de Viajar, simply put is the Spanish translation of Wanderlust. See how our landscape and environment inspire different stories depending on the season. Feel the magic of these places. Wander with me, as this ethically-made dress adorns women from around the world as each woman tells her own unique story.
Clean, organic and elegant with a touch of bohemian vibes, this dress is the epitome of a free spirit. Admire these courageous women from different areas of the world in this Spell Bride dress. I chose this company because their dresses are ethically and sustainably made and have those boho vibes I dream about. Spell + The Gypsy Collective is a woman-owned company who support the women and communities from which the dresses are made. My aim is to raise global awareness for ethical fashion and plastic-free weddings. Follow my passionate journey on Instagram by searching for #pasiondeviajar.
Antigua, Guatemala – Audrey
I met Audrey at the Women’s Photo Art Tour in Antigua, Guatemala. I packed my dress knowing I would have an opportunity to photograph this beautiful spirit in the streets of Antigua. She is a radiant soul and I’m happy to say I made a new friend! I just acquired my Canon EOSR mirrorless camera and brought it with me to test out and get the hang of before wedding season in 2019. Speaking of Guatemala, I’m offering a couples giveaway! See my stories to enter! Winners picked March 6!
Connecticut – Malaika + Spencer
I met Malaika and Spencer at Real Art Ways in Hartford and instantly fell in love with their chemistry for one another. They are the epitome of a young, passionate couple and are so sweet together. Her sister, Kailah and Tang’s sustainable styled elopement was featured on 100 Layer Cake. I teamed up with my friend, Deb from Lindell Flower Farm for a seasonal summer bouquet and I styled my studio with Together LLC fabulous green boho rentals. All Dolled Up used Youngblood Mineral make-up, also eco-friendly on Malaika.
Acadia National Park – Maine – Alice Rise Beads
I met Jessica on Instagram when I was searching for a model for my trip to Acadia National Park. My goal was to do a sunrise session on Cadillac Mountain. I’m still blown away that she met me at 4:30 a.m. in the dark, cold wind and fog that summer morning. Jessica makes phenomenal beaded jewelry and you can find her creations at Alice Rise Beads.
Connecticut – Monique
Monique took my Inclusive Photographers Workshop last year and has sky-rocketed in food photography. She is incredibly talented and so supportive to her community. I had dreamed of photographing someone at this rock outcropping that reminds me of Iceland on the climb to Talcott Mountain. Years later, Monique and I huffed up the mountain before sunset on a hot summer day. Special thanks Lindsay from Upstyle and Make-up by Erica Martell for coming to my studio to get us off to a beautiful beginning.
Houston, Texas – Rachael
Rachael and I met at the Women’s Photo Art Tour in Cuba last year. I was second shooting for my friend, Simon Ly in Houston, Texas her hometown, so I asked if she wanted to model for me. Rachael recently graduated with her law degree and is a natural model. We had the best time laughing and exploring the urban art in Houston and finished our day with Tex Mex. I’ve never seen so many mosquitos in an urban environment before, holy cow, we got nailed, but it was worth it. Thanks to Sunny’s Hair and Make-up for meeting us at my Airbnb to put the glam on this natural beauty.
St. Mary’s Glacier, Colorado – Molly + Sam
I have been following Molly’s journeys around the world since I met her at a wedding two years ago. She and her love, Sam reside in Denver, CO. My husband and I visited our friends in Boulder and spent a memorabe Christmas day in their sweet home over a delicous brunch. Her cinnamon buns fueled our hike up St. Mary’s Glacier in the snow. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate the end of an epic 2018.
Love makes the world go round and having all these wonderful connections just warms my heart. I can’t thank these wonderful women enough for joining me on this adventurous vision. If anyone would like to purchase my Spell Bride dress for their wedding, it’s in great shape, shoot me an e-mail! I’m happy to pass it on to give it some second-hand love. There are multiple ways to style and adorn this dress as you can see from my adventures.
