Waterfall Engagement Photos in Connecticut. Two women sitting in front of a waterfall

Or Should I say EnGAYgement Shoot!

I was so stoked when Melyssa + Cori reach out to book me for their photoshoot in my home state! Their waterfall engagement photos in Connecticut are my absolute favorite and I could not be honored that they chose me to document their love. They are going to be two stunning brides on their wedding day!

We ventured out into the magical woodlands of Connecticut and made their dream for romantic and whimsical engagement photos come true! They even got into the freezing cold water for some extra steamy portraits!

The Importance of Engagement Sessions

As a photographer (based in Connecticut but shooting worldwide!), I absolutely love engagement sessions! It gives me one on one time with couples to really get to know them, to share beautiful locations, and have epic adventures together. But, as an elopement photographer, often shooting destination weddings outside of my home state, I don't always get to photograph my couple's engagement sessions. But when I do, I'm reminded of just how important it is to shoot with your photographer before the elopement/wedding day!

Your wedding or elopement day is one of the most important days of your life, and rightfully so! You are celebrating your lifetime love and the significance of the commitment you're making. One of the most important aspects of planning your big day is selecting a photographer that can capture all of the beautiful moments. Because in the end, that will be all that's left of your celebration. While I could go into all the reasons why being selective about your photographer is important, right now I want to focus on why booking an engagement shoot is important!

Why Take Engagement Photos?

Engagement sessions are a fantastic opportunity for photographers to capture the love and connection between couples before their big day. Taking the time to document this unique, and short season of your relationship is so special. Plus it's a great way to get in some content for your wedding invites or website! But they are not just another chance to get some great photos – they're also an essential part of the process.

Booking engagement photos is a great opportunity for couples to get more comfortable in front of the camera BEFORE the big day. A lot of people have never done a photoshoot before, like ever! And many people feel nervous or self-conscious about being photographed. An engagement session can help them feel more relaxed and natural! Not only with being in front of the camera but also being with the photographer. This translates to better photos on the wedding day and a more enjoyable experience overall.

Booking an engagement session with your same wedding or elopement photographer has a lot of perks. Not only are you investing in them, but they are investing right back into you! By taking the time to get to know you, and learning how to best photograph you as a couple. Building a relationship with the vendor who will spend the most time with you on your wedding day can make a world of difference!

Booking an Engagement Session with Me

Engagement sessions serve a valuable purpose beyond the fun and creativity. They allow me as a photographer to get to know the couple's personalities, their style, and their preferences. This info helps me create a customized experience for them on their elopement day; tailored to their unique vision and needs. The better I know the couple, the better I can capture their personalities and the love they share! My sessions are designed to be fun, relaxed and laid back so that my clients can feel comfortable, be themselves, and enjoy the experience.

If you're interested in booking an engagement session, I have openings in August! And if you book in July, you can save with my special offer. I offer a variety of packages that can be tailored according to your budget and needs. I will work with you to create a unique, personalized experience that suits your style, personality, and vision.

Plus, if you combine an adventure session with your elopement or destination wedding package, you can save even more! An adventure session can be the perfect addition to your wedding experience, whether it's a day before or after your big event. It provides an opportunity to explore beautiful locations, have epic adventures, and create unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

Okay to wrap things up here (thanks for sticking with me!) engagement sessions should not be skipped. Even if you're not able to shoot with your elopement photographer because they are out of state or country. Don't miss out on this opportunity to capture your love story and create memories that will last a lifetime.
