Have you ever opened an old book and smelled the history?  Turned the page and find a sweet surprise?  Well, my sister, Jennifer is at it again.  George pulled some glorious books from the shelves at the cottage and I began to thumb through the poetry book when pretty blue forget-me-knots were laid so gently next to “The Real” poem.  That is the poem I chose for my self portrait I shot just that evening.  It really struck a chord with me and the precious time I am spending with my family.  They live far away and I’m lucky to have them in my life.  We have been through our challenges and we still stick together through that strand of love and commitment.  My sister has a way with words and flowers and thanks to her, she dropped a beautiful treasure right in my lap.  Poetry and flowers, good books and quality time with family is balm to the soul.
