A Sunrise Elopement Ceremony in Grand Tetons

Ashleigh + Donnie’s celebration was centered around Jackson Hole. Their morning began just outside of town in Grand Teton National Park (one of the crown jewels of Jackson Hole). Hiking quietly to the shores of Taggart Lake at dawn, they exchanged vows with their children by their side, the mountains mirrored in the still water behind them.

George (The Traveling Officiant and my husband!) led them through a heartfelt ceremony. In true family fashion, they settled the question of “who goes first?” with a quick round of rock-paper-scissors. It was lighthearted, emotional, and so beautifully them.

Exploring Grand Tetons Together

After their vows, we spent the morning exploring alpine meadows, trails, and overlooks. Their portraits felt natural, unposed, and filled with genuine connection.

What made their day even more magical? It was filmed not just on digital, but also on Super 8 and 35mm film. These nostalgic formats gave their story a dreamy, cinematic quality — like flipping through an old home movie you’ll want to hold onto forever.

Film is one of my favorite ways to capture elopements in the Tetons. It slows everything down, adds texture and emotion, and turns fleeting moments into heirlooms.

A Taste of Downtown for Their Jackson Hole Elopement

One of the best parts of eloping in Jackson Hole is how your day can weave together rugged wilderness with western charm. Ashleigh + Donnie celebrated with coffee at Cowboy Coffee Co., kissed under the neon glow of the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, and wandered the wooden sidewalks past horse-drawn carriages.
