Find peace in San Marcos on Lake Atilan in Guatemala for your elopement. Relax in paradise and enjoy your honeymoon with yoga, massage and fresh food. Guatemala is magic and I’m delighted to share a favorite location I stayed at with my women photographer friends. Guatemala is a dream that will come to life with it’s verdant green landscape, flora and fauna. If you love color, culture, adventure, yoga, hiking, swimming, and volcanoes, well, you’ve found paradise. With temperatures ranging in the 70’s, November is a lovely time of year to visit Guatemala, post rainy season to plan your getaway. You can easily take a boat to nearby towns around the lake and explore the rich heritage and traditions that still live on today. San Juan is known for it’s women’s co-op and plant-dyed textiles that I look forward to blogging about soon.
Stay at this thoughtfully designed and eco-friendly, Airbnb, just a Tuk Tuk ride away. Get your groceries in town and cook in the kitchen overlooking the lake or ride back into town for many delightful outdoor garden eateries and cafes to chillax. Hike up to The Yoga Forest and immerse yourself in this eco-village and blissed out lifestyle. Get a massage at The East West Center and visit our favorite spot on the beach for a Gallo (the rooster), Guatemalan beer. Margaritas are made from freshly squeezed lime and local Tequila, life doesn’t get any better. Unplug and slip into nature.
I can’t wait to hear from you to plan your adventure elopement, anniversary or intimate wedding! I also have some great recommendations in Antigua that will be forthcoming in future blogs, stay tuned!
I have Amanada Bjorn to thank for getting us together to visit Guatemala. I went with her to Cuba in March and I just love Latin American countries for their rich heritage, art and culture. I can’t wait to hear from you to plan your adventure elopement, anniversary or intimate wedding! I also have some great recommendations in Antigua that will be forthcoming in future blogs, stay tuned!
