Looking for colorful ideas for your Brooklyn engagement session?  This blog is going to be a scroll stopper!  Dive in to Lilly + Dustin’s adventurous Brooklyn engagement session and be inspired to have your own unique experience!  I always suggest wearing clothes that express who you are and most importantly, that you feel comfortable in.  I had so much fun exploring with Lilly + Dustin around the streets of Brooklyn taking in the art, getting to know my couple before their big day!

When you book your small wedding or elopement with me, I always share tips and ideas for your engagement session and elopement, small wedding.  I have several Pinterest boards for wardrobe ideas and even envisioning the type of day you want to create.  It can be as colorful, adventurous or as casual as you would like it to be.

It’s important for me to get to know my couples and will ask you all about your interests so we can plan the perfect engagement or elopement that expresses who you are.  The goal is to have fun and walk away with stunning images from your date together.  I follow all my couples on Instagram and noticed Lilly’s black outfit and suggested she wear that to her engagement because it was so “her”!

We started at a Tiki Bar in Brooklyn and had a cocktail.  Most of my couples aren’t comfortable having their photos taken so I always suggest making it a fun date night and pretend I’m not there.  I start out by giving my couples a lot of space, walking, moving and having them interact with one another.

We strolled through nearby Mglorick Park where Dustin proposed.  It started to rain, but we didn’t mind and it made for fun photos dancing in the rain.  We walked back to their apartment for a wardrobe change and made our way to Westlight passing by colorful street art by Oscar Lett.

Don’t let the rain stop you from having your engagement session.  I loved our time adventuring together and exploring the ever changing streets of Brooklyn.

I’m so excited to head to Long Island City today to see my couple and create beautiful memories for them before they elope in September in Brooklyn!
