Melissa grew up in Essex and Coury in Chester so it was only fitting that these two lovers wanted to share their charming hometowns with me for their Connecticut engagement. They live in New York and spend as much time as they can visiting their family and friends back home. She coordinated her make-up and hair trial for her engagement session with Upstyle. I’d highly recommend doing this for any couple planning their engagement session.
I can’t believe I have never been to Chester before, it’s so quaint and there are a ton of interesting places to explore and fine restaurants. Essex has always been a New England charmer and I remember going there when I was young with my grandmother. We enjoyed strolling through the quaint town of Essex with white-picket lined streets and historic homes. It was a chilly spring day in April and the magnolias were beginning to bloom . We retraced Melissa and Coury’s steps where they met at the Black Seal in Essex and they warmed up with a drink before venturing to the waters edge. It’s been said that if you can fit through the window, you get a free drink! Ha ha!
I can’t wait for Melissa and Coury’s wedding on Friday at the beautiful, Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT. It’s one of my favorite beaches and estates to bring my couples for their engagement sessions too. I’m excited to photograph my first wedding here! The historic landmark is a Connecticut gem with its beautiful landscape, trees and gardens. I know it’s going to be a dream and I’m looking forward to meeting their friends and family for their special day!
