For Couples Who Want to Feel at Home With Acadia

You’re here because a big traditional wedding never felt like you.
You’d rather wake up before dawn, hike in by headlamp, and say your vows with the smell of spruce and salt air than walk down an aisle in front of 200 people.

Acadia is pure Maine magic—tide-carved cliffs, mossy balsam forests, and soft mist rolling in off the Atlantic. At sunrise, this place truly lives up to its Wabanaki name: Dawnland.

It’s one of the most accessible national parks in the U.S., yet it still holds quiet corners where you can exhale and feel like the only two people in the world.

Your Acadia elopement might look like:

  • Sunrise vows on a rocky overlook with the ocean as your witness
  • A breakfast picnic, midday nap, then a golden-hour hike with lanterns through the woods
  • A just-us ceremony on the Schoodic Peninsula, followed by lobster and a dockside first dance
  • A rainy-day fog story that feels like a moody film in the best way

“We felt so supported and ‘seen.’ The day flowed like water, like the perfect adventure, without stress or worry.”
— Jen & Travis

For couples who love nostalgia — Super 8 film captures your day like an old home movie, full of movement, texture, and feeling.

Your elopement, designed + curated from start to finish

One calm guide.
One storytelling approach

I’m an expert Acadia National Park elopement photographer helping couples plan calm, intentional elopements in Bar Harbor, Mount Desert Island, and coastal Maine since 2019 and filming on Super 8 since 2023.

I help you design a calm, cinematic Acadia elopement with full planning support, location scouting around light, tides, and crowds, digital photography, 35mm film, optional Super 8, digital video, and a timeline with room for the good stuff — lobster by the water, fog rolling through the trees, forest walks, or a quiet campfire by the ocean.

Introducing the Acadia Elopement Collective, Your Acadia National Park Elopement Photographers

Hey, I’m Corey — photographer, planner, and founder of the Acadia Elopement Collective.

Alongside my teammate Ashley, we photograph and help design intentional elopement experiences throughout Acadia National Park and coastal Maine.

I’ve been photographing elopements in Acadia since 2019. Maine is my second home (my family’s been here since the ’90s), and I return all season long to hike trails, scout new spots, and stay deeply connected to the land.

Ashley has been documenting weddings and elopements in Acadia for years as well, and together we approach elopements with a calm, grounded, and supportive presence — guiding when needed while still allowing space for moments to unfold naturally.

Acadia sits on Wabanaki land, and your elopement experience will honor that land through Leave No Trace practices, thoughtful timing, permit compliance, and choosing locations that respect both the ecosystem and your experience.

“We didn’t use any brain power to plan this. Corey made this experience so easy.”

For couples who want an intimate Acadia elopement without the stress of figuring out locations, timelines, weather, permits, backup plans, or what the day could even look like.

“We didn’t use any brain power to plan this. Corey made this experience so easy. We wanted to avoid the stress of planning, spending tons of money, and a traditional wedding day that felt more for everyone else than it was for ourselves. Corey planned the locations, watched the weather, had backup plans ready, created the timeline, and helped us imagine what an elopement day could even look like. It was intimate, special, quiet, and the day was captured perfectly. Corey and Ashley made eloping so easy.”

Photographing elopements in Acadia since 2019

I’ve returned to Mount Desert Island season after season, photographing elopements through summer thunderstorms, October fog, quiet blazing sunrise mornings, and those quiet mornings when it feels like the coastline belongs to just our couples. Ashley has been photographing elopements in Acadia since elopements first started, over 15 years.

Hybrid Storytelling: Digital,
Film & Super 8

Your Acadia elopement is documented through:

  • Digital photography for crisp photos of Acadia’s cliffs and forests
  • 35mm film for nostalgic, imperfect magic that captures how you felt
  • Super 8 motion film (included in Corey’s longer packages or available as an add-on)

The result feels like flipping through a beloved family album, made cinematic. With film, your images have movement, soul, and that “perfectly imperfect” texture.

“The photos don’t just show what the day looked like, they show what it felt like.”

Officiant Services Built In

In the summer, Corey’s husband George (The Traveling Officiant) may be available to officiate your ceremony, and he can also guide you through scripting a deeply personal ceremony. He’s thoughtful and warm, with a voice that carries on Acadia’s windy cliffs.

When George can’t be there, the Acadia Elopement Collective team is also ordained and can sign your license during a private vow exchange—keeping things simple and personal.

“George was not only our officiant but an essential part of the day. He helped create a ceremony that felt very true to us.”
— Dana & Israel

A Calm, Intentional Experience

Our couples describe the day as:

  • “Relaxing, meaningful, and completely about us”
  • “Natural and effortless — we didn’t stress about a single detail”

We build timelines that are spacious and unhurried:

  • Time to breathe between locations
  • Time to snack, warm up, and regroup
  • Time for quiet moments with each other, not just the camera

You won’t feel rushed, put on display, or pushed into stiff poses.
Just guided, protected, and gently encouraged to be yourselves.

“They made me feel safe, seen, and heard — from our first conversation through every moment of the day.”
— Amber & Beka

Quick Answers for Planning Your Elopement

Acadia Elopement FAQS

If your ceremony has more than 10 people, yes — Acadia requires a Special Use Permit. I’ll help you understand what’s needed based on your location, guest count, and plans so you’re not trying to sort through park rules alone. Permits also help protect the places we love, which matters here. Acadia is not just a backdrop for your wedding day — it’s living land we’re lucky to step onto with care.

I specialize in Acadia elopements with up to 16 guests because smaller gatherings feel more relaxed, flexible, and connected to the land. More people often means more logistics, more pressure, and more impact on fragile places. Acadia is not a traditional venue — it’s a living landscape — so I’ll help you create a day that protects your peace, supports accessibility and safety, follows Leave No Trace, and honors the land as much as your love.

Yes — your Acadia elopement can be just the two of you or include a small circle of your closest people. I’ll just gently ask you to think about whether having family there will help you feel more calm, supported, and present — or whether it might bring in pressure, opinions, or people-pleasing.

Some couples feel grounded with their people nearby. Others need the privacy of saying their vows without an audience. Either way, I’ll help you build a timeline that protects your peace, gives you space to breathe, and doesn’t turn your elopement into a mini wedding unless that’s what you truly want.

I get it — not everyone is a morning person. But in Acadia, sunrise is absolutely worth considering. The park is quieter, the coastline feels more private, the light is softer, and there’s something unforgettable about beginning your marriage while the rest of the world is still asleep. You’re only doing this once — why not give yourselves the kind of morning you’ll talk about forever?

Yes. Corey helps you design your Acadia elopement as an experience, not a checklist. This is about creating a day that feels true to you, rooted in the landscape, and calm enough that you can actually be present for it.

Through a private client planning portal, you’ll receive guidance with location ideas, timeline design, permits, lodging recommendations, trusted local vendors, all-inclusive package options, vow writing support, light, tides, crowds, accessibility, and the little details that make the day feel fully supported.

Acadia is also known as Dawnland, and I believe this place deserves to be approached with care. The goal is not to pack the day with more just because you can — it’s to curate something thoughtful, grounded, and memorable in a way that honors your relationship and the land.

If George is available as your officiant, we can also create a personalized ceremony that feels like you, not something pulled from a generic script.

Moody Maine is part of the story. Fog, mist, wind, and soft coastal rain can make Acadia feel even more alive, so please don’t spend your elopement week spiraling over the forecast. Leave the weather-watching to me.

I’ll check the radar, build in backup options, and come prepared with Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, and clear umbrellas just in case. We don’t fight the weather here — we work with it.

Yes — Acadia is one of the more dog-friendly national parks, and I love when couples include their pup in a way that feels thoughtful, safe, and calm. That said, I usually recommend having your dog join for just part of the day, not the entire experience.

A trusted pet handler, friend, or family member makes a huge difference so your dog is cared for when they’re not in photos, and you’re not juggling leashes, timelines, terrain, weather, crowds, and vows all at once.

Dogs must stay on leash, not every trail or location is dog-friendly, and some areas are better suited for paws than others. I’ll help you think through timing, locations, accessibility, and whether including your dog supports the kind of day you actually want.

As always, we’ll follow Leave No Trace, clean up after them, avoid sensitive areas, and choose locations with care. Your dog can absolutely be part of the story — we’ll just make sure it feels good for them, for you, and for the land.

Yes. Every Acadia elopement includes digital photography and 35mm film, whether your day is photographed by Corey or Ashley. Corey also offers Super 8 and digital video for couples who want motion woven into the experience.

Together, these pieces create the cinematic storytelling approach we love — still images, nostalgic film, movement, sound, vows, wind, waves, and all the little in-between pieces that make the day feel alive.

Your Acadia elopement will be photographed by Corey or Ashley, depending on your date, coverage, and what kind of experience you’re dreaming up. Either way, you’re supported by the same calm, thoughtful planning approach from start to finish.

Corey leads the planning, timeline design, location guidance, creative direction, and final editing, so your experience and gallery feel cohesive with the work you see here. Ashley brings her own grounded, artful presence behind the camera, while Corey keeps the full vision connected from inquiry to final delivery.

Acadia elopement packages begin at $6,400 and include digital photography, 35mm film, and planning support. You’re not just investing in pretty photos — you’re choosing years of experience, calm guidance, thoughtful planning, local knowledge, safety awareness, artistry, and a team who knows how to move through Acadia with care.

Corey has photographed weddings since 2012 and Acadia elopements since 2017. Ashley is one of the original Acadia elopement photographers, and together we know the land, light, tides, weather, crowds, and local community well. We carry liability insurance, care deeply about Leave No Trace, and prioritize your safety, peace of mind, and experience from start to finish.

This is a sacred experience in a wild place. Choose wisely.
