Lynn and Mark live in Brooklyn and wanted to retrace their steps of where they met and how he proposed. This Brooklyn engagement will be sure to delight and inspire you with tasty libations, good eats, and a colorful spring canvas. We met at Westlight, a scenic rooftop bar overlooking Manhattan because rain was predicted. Thankfully, it held off and we wandered through the Farmer’s Market at Williamsburg’s McCarren Park where Mark proposed to Lynn. The exact spot is now under construction, but I found a gorgeous blooming bush to jump into. There is no shortage of urban art and inspiring quotes that speckled their engagement session with good fortunes similar to what’s written on a yogi tea bag. On our walk, we even passed Mark’s old apartment, so we took an obligatory stoop photo. He even pointed out his bedroom window.
I just love when couples share every detail of their love story with me, it’s the sweetest and believe it or not, I’m not just here to take your photos, I want to know you both. Sharing is caring and it paints a beautiful picture for my imagination to photograph your love story. Our last stop was at the local’s pub, The Commodore, where they first met. We were hoping to have their famous fried chicken, but they weren’t serving food at that point, so we wandered across the street and shared a meal together over tacos. We had so much fun, I definitely need to go back for more adventures.
My day didn’t end in Brooklyn, stay tuned for the next engagement session that took me to Cold Spring, NY on the same day. That blog will be coming in September! If you live in the city, show me your favorite haunts and let’s have an adventure engagement session, mmmkay!
Mark and Lynn’s love is so contagious, you just feel good being in their presence. I cannot wait to photograph their love story this weekend at the Interlaken Inn. See you soon lovers!
